Activation Report  Rapa Nui

Greetings to all radio amateurs and friends following our activation from the magical island of Rapa Nui.Upon our arrival on the island, we were welcomed by challenging weather conditions. The first few days brought heavy rain and strong winds, and throughout the activation the nighttime winds have remained particularly intense. As a result, some of our antennas suffered minor damage, although these issues were quickly repaired and have not significantly affected our operation.Despite these challenges, the activation continues according to plan. The team remains active on the bands and is working hard to give as many operators as possible around the world the opportunity to contact this sought-after Pacific entity.Beyond the radio operation itself, we would like to highlight what an extraordinary place Rapa Nui truly is. Its breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, iconic moai statues, and, above all, the warmth and hospitality of its people make this an unforgettable experience. Every day spent here reminds us why this island is considered one of the most remarkable destinations on Earth.Regarding propagation, the 6-meter band has been unusually quiet so far. Since our arrival, we have not experienced any significant openings from the island, and opportunities to make contacts on the "Magic Band" have been very limited. Nevertheless, we continue to monitor the band closely and remain hopeful that conditions will improve in the coming days, allowing us to make at least some 6-meter QSOs.We sincerely appreciate the interest, support, and patience of everyone trying to work us. The team will continue operating as planned and doing its best to maximize contacts throughout the remainder of the activation.Thank you for your support, and we look forward to meeting many more of you on the air.73
